12 Skills. One decision at a time.

Stoa Poker breaks poker into a clear progression. Each skill focuses on one concept, builds on the last, and drills it until the right play is automatic.

Skills 1–2 are free. Skills 3–12 unlock with one subscription: $9/month or $60/year at launch. Every skill is unlocked during the beta.

Foundation Start here. Always free. Skills 1–2
1
Opening Hands
Is this hand playable? Learn which hands win and which ones bleed chips.
2
Position Awareness
Where you sit changes everything. Master why acting last is a massive edge.
Core Skills 3–8
3
Blind Defense
Stop bleeding chips from the blinds. Your posted money isn't a reason to call.
4
Non-Blind Defense
Someone raised. Now what? Call, 3-bet, or fold from a non-blind seat.
5
Facing Limpers
Limped pots everywhere. Know when to attack and when to fold.
6
Board Reading
What did the flop just change? Read board texture and classify your hand in seconds.
7
Outs, Equity, and Pot Odds
How live is your draw? Know your odds without a calculator at the table.
8
Value Betting & Bet Sizing
How much, and why. Size your bets to extract value and deny equity.
Advanced Skills 9–12
9
Opponent Types
Who are you playing against? Identify player types and adjust your strategy.
10
Bluffing & Semi-Bluffing
When to bet with nothing, and when not to. Profitable bluffing is a skill, not a guess.
11
Full-Hand Integration
Put it all together. Make every decision from preflop to river with a full read.
12
Range Thinking Lite
Think in hands, not a hand. The mindset shift that separates good players from great ones.

Practice, not passive study.

Most poker learning is passive. You watch, read, and nod along, then freeze when it's your turn to act. Stoa Poker puts the decision in front of you instead: one spot, one choice, and the reason it was right or wrong before the next hand deals.

Structured learning
Not a random collection of tips. Each skill builds on the last, so you always know what to work on next, and you finish one before you start the next.
Active practice
Every session is a drill. You make a decision, get immediate feedback, and learn why. Like the range, not the lesson notes.
Built for real players
Designed for home game and recreational players, not pros optimizing solver ranges. Skill 1 starts from scratch. No background required.
Priced for the buy-in
$9/month at launch. GTO Wizard starts at $35. Upswing is $99. Solver platforms are priced for professionals; this is priced for the player whose game is on Friday night.

One price. No tiers to decode.

Skills 1 and 2 are free to keep. Everything else unlocks with a single subscription, and there's no credit card to start.

Free during beta. Every skill is unlocked right now. The prices below take effect at launch.

How we compare

How Stoa Poker compares to other poker training options.
Tool Price What you get
Stoa Poker Progressive drills, structured curriculum, beginner-friendly
GTO Wizard $35–116/mo Solver training that assumes intermediate+ knowledge
Upswing Poker $99/mo Video courses, passive learning only
YouTube Free Great info, zero practice, no structure or feedback

Good questions.

Is this gambling?
No. Stoa Poker is a training app. There's no real money, no play money, and no wagering of any kind. It's purely educational. All scenarios are simulated for the purpose of learning poker strategy. Think of it like a chess trainer, not a casino app.
Do I need poker experience to start?
Not at all. Skill 1 starts from scratch. We explain what makes a hand playable before you drill a single decision. If you know the basic rules (what a flush is, how betting works), you're ready. If you don't, we cover that too.
How is this different from watching YouTube?
YouTube tells you what to do. Stoa Poker makes you do it. You can watch 50 videos on pot odds and still freeze when you're facing a river bet at your Tuesday night game, because knowing a concept and executing it under pressure are two different things. Stoa Poker drills each skill until the right decision is automatic. And instead of figuring out which of 10,000 videos to watch first, you get a clear progression: start here, build to there.
What about GTO solvers?
GTO solvers are powerful tools for intermediate and advanced players who already understand poker fundamentals. Stoa Poker is the on-ramp, not the destination. We teach you how to think about poker decisions. Once you've mastered the 12 skills, solver training will actually make sense. Skip ahead without the foundation and you'll just stare at range grids wondering what any of it means.
Can I try it right now?
Yes. On iPhone and iPad it's a one-minute install through TestFlight, with no signup and no waiting. Android is a few steps behind: the build is in Google Play internal testing, so we add testers one Google account at a time. The download page covers both paths. Every skill is unlocked and free while the beta runs, and we'll tell you before anything changes.
What platforms does it run on?
iPhone and Android. iOS leads, because that's where the beta is furthest along and where the first public release will land. Android runs the same app and is in testing now, a few steps behind. Neither is on the App Store or the Play Store yet, so both installs go through the beta programs described on the download page.
